We are reopening
13 Jun 2020 by Naomi Wood
We are pleased to announce that the Modbury Sport’s and Community Club will open its doors on Friday 19 June, to allow its members to patronise the downstairs bar.
This date has been chosen as this is the date the SA Government lift their cap on heads per room from 20.
Initially, the opening hours will be:
Wednesday 5:30 to 7:30pm
Friday5 to 8pm
There are a number of measures we are putting in place and guidelines which will need to be followed to ensure compliance with stage 3 COVID restrictions.
We ask that you familiarise yourself with these guidelines and only attend if you:
• are 100% well (experiencing no flu like symptoms, however mild)
• have not been in contact with a known or suspected COVID case in the last 14 days
• have not travelled outside of South Australia or been overseas in the last 14 days
• are willing and able to adhere to all guidelines set
The current COVID-19 guidelines affecting all attendees of the Modbury Sport’s and Community Club include:
• As of 19 June, the number of patrons allowed to be present in any room on our premises is determined by the 4 square metre rule.
• Only the downstairs hall will be accessible at this time as this room will allow the largest number of patrons to congregate safely.
Based on the size of each room on our premises, we are able to accommodate:
o 48 people in downstairs hall
o 26 people in upstairs members lounge
o 30 people on viewing platform – This is considered an enclosed/indoor space under the legislation as it is at least 70% enclosed.
• A register of attendees will need to be maintained, therefore, you will be asked to sign in on arrival
• Social distancing must be adhered to at all times meaning all patrons must remain 1.5 metres apart including when queuing, entering and exiting the premises
• Patrons in all areas must remain seated throughout their stay – Bar service is permitted however members should only approach the bar if able to do so whilst maintaining social distancing (1.5metres) and must return to their seat prior to consuming food or drink.
• Groups who arrive together or whom are part of the same family may sit together without the need for social distancing however, the back of any chair must be at least 1.5 metres from the back of any chair from another table.
• At this time, meals will not be served or consumed on premises. Snack food may be purchased and consumed however must not be shared.
• Good hygiene practices must be maintained, including sneezing into your elbow, the regular washing of hands and use of hand sanitiser.
• No TAB, lotteries, gaming, 8 ball or darts
• Changerooms, showers and gyms must remain closed however toilets may be used. Only half of the toilets in any room may be used at any one time.
• Chairs and tables must be cleaned after a member leaves and prior to being used by any other person.
Over the coming days we will be preparing the downstairs hall for opening by adding a number of hand sanitiser stations and floor markings.
The Modbury Sport’s and Community Club COVID Safe Plan will be available to read on site.
Additional and frequent cleaning measures will also be undertaken to ensure all patrons safety.
As mentioned above, if you are unwilling or unable to adhere to the above measures then please do not attend until these measures are able to be eased. Those who are unwilling to comply or who are repeatedly breaching these guidelines will be asked to leave the premises.
We will be reviewing these measures as well as our opening times regularly and will inform you of any changes as we are able to make them.
Thankyou in advance for your support and understanding at this challenging time.
